LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS will soon be available on this site. Plan ahead for the “Scholarship Blitz”.
- Prepare an academic profile and scholastic resume. A sample can be found on the counseling department webpage under scholarship resources.
- Secure letters of recommendation. Many of the scholarships require 2 or 3 recommendations; so, be a step ahead and ask teachers and/or others to write letters of scholarship recommendation for you.
The letter does not have to name a specific scholarship, but should speak to your qualities of work ethic as well as involvement in school and community.
Most of these people would appreciate having a copy of your resume to reference in writing your letters.

Important Dates for the 2024 Local Scholarship Program:
- January: Scholarships will be available on-line through the high school web page on January 16th.
- February: Deadline for completed scholarship applications to be returned to the Guidance office is February 13th. Scholarships will be accepted until 3:00 p.m.
- ~No late submissions, NO EXCEPTIONS! ~
- May (TBD) : Senior Scholarship & Award Night @ PCHS. If you are a recipient of a scholarship, you will be notified with an invitation to attend.

Scholarships Available in the Area
~Stull Orthodontics Scholarship Program:
The Stull Orthodontics Scholarship Program offers the opportunity to support the college costs for graduating high school students. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to graduating seniors from the local area. Winners will be notified by mid-May to assist in the student's college decision.
This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who:
- Be a senior attending a state accredited public or private high school. The applicant must reside in one of the following counties: Campbell, Kenton, Boone, Pendleton or Bracken. In addition to any student in the counties previously stated, our patients from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana are eligible to participate.
- Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, strong participation in school activities and community service. Recommended criteria are a 3.5 cumulative GPA and combined SAT I scores of 1000 and/or ACT scores of 24.
- Be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year and enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university.

~FLYING PIG HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP:
Pig Works, the non-profit parent organization behind the Flying Pig Marathon, is excited to announce that (12) Flying Pig Community Scholars Program scholarships of $5,000 per year (for up to 4 years) will be awarded to community-minded student runners from the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Tri-State region, helping them pursue their running goals and their post-secondary education in 2024.
Scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded to six males and six females that participate in cross country or track & field programs. Dedication, teamwork, service to their community and a passion for running are the necessary qualifying attributes. Additional requirements can be found on our website. All scholarship applications must be submitted by March 3, 2024, with an accompanying essay and recommendation letter.

~KENTUCKY HIGHWAY INDUSTRIES SCHOLARSHIP:
The Kentucky Highway Industries Scholarship Committee, chaired by Clay Albright, Caldwell Stone and Brian Dillard, Rogers Group, Inc., is proud to announce the continuance of our scholarship program in 2024 – 2025. Kentucky Highway Industries (KHI) firmly believes that higher education is one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways in which to invest in the future of our students. Based on that belief, KHI has instituted a scholarship program to offer monetary grants beginning in the fall of 2024. The mission of the Kentucky Highway Industries (KHI) in offering this scholastic grant is to “establish a scholarship fund which will benefit the community of the Commonwealth of Kentucky through advanced education.” We realize that this grant is supplemental in nature, relative to the cost of an advanced education. These grants are offered to anyone enrolled in a higher education institution, including public or private colleges and universities, and public or private vocational or technical schools regardless of field of study. (This includes pursuit of a CDL license and Diesel Mechanic training.)
Who is eligible to apply? High School Seniors or students currently enrolled in a Kentucky Higher Education institution, whose parent/grandparent/guardian or spouse is employed by any member company of the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors, Kentucky Crushed Stone Association or Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky. The member company employee must have completed at least one year satisfactory employment and either live in Kentucky or have a primary work address in Kentucky. Your Grade Point Average must be 2.5 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale) for the previous year of education (high school or college).
